How Do I Reformat a Document to Fit a Smaller Paper Size in Microsoft Publisher?
In Microsoft Publisher, you can adjust both your paper size and page size to accommodate the document. The page size is the area of your publication, while the paper size is the size of the paper used for printing. The choices for paper size depend on your printer. In order to reformat a document for a smaller paper size, it is a good idea to change both the paper size and page size. You might also need to downsize and move the objects in your publication to fit the paper size.
Instructions

1
Open your document in Microsoft Publisher.
-
2
Change the paper size. Go to the “File” menu and select “Print Setup.”

3
Under “Paper,” select the size of paper you want in the “Size” list. The sizes available depend on what your printer supports. Click “OK.”
-
4
To match the printer paper size, change the page size. In the “Format Publication” pane, click “Change Page Size.”
-
5
Click the button that shows the page size you want to change to. For example, if you are downsizing to a letter-size page, click “Letter 8.5 x 11.” You also can scroll through different sizes according to different publication types.
-
6
Move your objects inside the new page area. Once you change the page size, if there are objects in your document outside the printing area, click the objects. Wait until you see the Move cursor (looks like crossed arrows), and drag the items to a new position.

Tips & Warnings
If you want your publication to be smaller than the size of the paper, keep the page size as is. This would be useful if you want to print multiple pages on one sheet or to make a bleed off the page. Otherwise, make the page size the same as the paper size.
