Things You'll Need:
- Windows XP
- Print Shop install CD
-
Step 1
Log into Windows with an account that has administrative privileges. Make sure all of the programs are off before installing Print Shop. It is suggested that you turn off programs that automatically start when turning on your computer.
To do this, go to "Start" then "Run." Type in "MSCONFIG." Select the "Startup" tab. A list of programs will open up. Those that are checked are those that begin when starting the computer. Write down all of these programs, as you will need to know them for later, and then deselect them. Click "Apply" and then restart the computer. -
Step 2
Place the Print Shop CD into the CD-ROM drive. A menu will pop up asking you to install "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1." Click the "Install" button to do this.
-
Step 3
Read the user agreement for Print Shop, and click the button next to "I Agree." Click "Next." Then click which type of installation you want to do. "Custom Installation" takes up more memory space, but you can run the program without inserting the CD after installing. "Typical Installation" takes less memory, but you must use the CD to run the program.
-
Step 4
Click the icon next to "This feature, and all its subfeatures, will be installed on the local hard drive" and select all the program options for a Custom Installation. After the program installs, you will have to restart your computer.
Or, click "Typical Installation" and then "Install" to install for Typical Installation. After this installs, you will have to restart the computer. -
Step 5
Go back to MSCONFIG. Place a check mark next to all of the programs that you wrote down, click "Apply" and restart the computer again.
-
Step 6
Double-click "Print Shop 21" from the desktop, or wherever you saved it, and open the program. Everything should be installed and ready to go.
