How to String a Pearl Necklace
Pearl necklaces are a classic fashion statement yet continue to go in and out of high fashion and popularity. Pearls are strung or beaded differently from how you would make a necklace with other kinds of beads. Their precious quality requires special materials and a special technique that you can easily use at home to string your own pearl necklace. Making your own pearl necklace gives you the advantage of making it the length and the specific design that you want.

1
Decide how long you want your pearl necklace to be. Measure a length of silk cord with a ruler or tape measure, and multiply the length that you need by four. You will need the extra length to make sure you have enough for tying your knots. If your necklace will be long enough to fit over your head, you won't need to use a clasp. If you don't want a very long necklace, however, make sure you have a clasp on hand.

Make a simple knot about 2 or 3 inches from one end of the string, and thread a beading needle on to the other end. Feed your first two pearls on the needle and slide them down to the first knot. Make a loop between the two pearls as if you were going to create another knot, but don't complete it. Stick your pair of needle nose tweezers through the loop, and grip the cord right next to the first pearl. Pull the other end of the cord with your other hand and the loop will slide down the tweezers and knot right next to the first pearl. Slide the second pearl down next to it.

Repeat Step 2 until your necklace is the length that you desire. Finish the necklace by tying the two ends together with a tight double or triple knot, or tie the ends to each side of a clasp if your necklace is shorter in length.
