How to Add a Torrent to uTorrent

A Torrent is a file used in conjunction with a BitTorrent client to simplify file sharing between users and ease the process of sending larger files over the Internet. One of the more popular BitTorrent clients is uTorrent, and is a good choice for users unfamiliar with the BitTorrent platform. Users can create, upload, and download torrents using uTorrent. Getting started is easy and simplified through the uTorrent application.

Instructions

Adding A File From uTorrent

1. Run the uTorrent program.

2. Click "File" from the uTorrent menu.

3. Select "Add Torrent" from the resulting menu. You can also use the "CTRL+O" keyboard shortcut.

4. Navigate to to the torrent and click on it to have it imported in uTorrent.

Making uTorrent the Default BitTorrent Client

1. Click the "Options" link from the uTorrent menu.

2. Select "Preferences" from the resulting menu.

3. Locate the "Windows Integration" option and click the check box next to "Associate with .torrent files." Now, when you double-click any torrent file on your computer's system, it will automatically open using uTorrent.
