How to Make Paper Sea Creature Puppets

Paper puppets are a versatile craft for school or at home. When learning about sea life or mythology, a paper sea creature puppet is the perfect project for children. This puppet is inexpensive and can be made by practically anyone. Paper is a universally simple material that people of all ages can use to create countless crafts. Children and grown ups alike will have fun making sea creature puppets out of paper bags.

Things You'll Need

• Paper bag
• Scissors
• Green construction paper
• Red construction paper
• Glue
• "Googly" eyes

Instructions

1. Lay the paper bag flat on a table with the bottom of the bag facing up. Bend all four corners of the bottom of the bag and round them out to form the face of the puppet. Glue the rounded corners closed.

2. Cut 100 semicircles out of green construction paper that are each 1 inch wide at the bottom and 1 inch tall in the middle.

3. Glue these green semicircles all over the paper bag, overlapping them to form the scales of the sea monster.

4. Cut a semicircle out of red construction paper and glue it under the flap of the bottom of the paper bag for the tongue.

5. Glue some craft "googly" eyes onto the bottom of the bag and the sea monster puppet is complete.
