How Do I Change the Automatic Font in Microsoft Office Word 2007?

Microsoft changed the default or "automatic" font with the introduction of Microsoft Office Word 2007. Earlier versions of Microsoft Word used Times New Roman as the default font, but in Word 2007 Calibri was used as the default. If Calibri doesn't suit your tastes and you're tired of changing it every time you start Word, you can simply change your default font to avoid the hassle. In addition to changing the font type, you can change the style and size.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Home" tab on the Microsoft Word toolbar. Expand the "Font" menu by clicking on the box beneath "Font."

    • 2

Scroll through the available fonts. To preview a font, highlight it with your mouse, then look under the box labeled "Preview." When you find the font you want, leave it highlighted.
