How to Remove Holes Left From Patches on a Leather Jacket

Despite the tough image leather jackets convey, the jackets themselves are not impervious to damage. One particular form of damage occurs when patches are removed and holes are left in the jacket. Things You'll Need
- Scissors or razor
- Leather filler
- Leather subpatch
- Hair dryer
- Leather colorant
- Leather protector
- Sponge
- Nubuck or buffer cloth

Remove any rough or frayed pieces in the holes to make the area neat before filling.

Use the leather filler to fill in the holes. If the holes are very small, use a toothpick or the tip of a pen to place a dab in each hole. If the hole is large, you may need to put in the leather subpatch before using the filler.

Dry the filler with the hair dryer. It may also be necessary to add another coat of filler in which case you should dry the first coat completely before adding the next.

Apply leather colorant to the holes once they have been filled and dried. The color should match the jacket as closely as possibly.

Use the sponge to apply the leather protector over the filled and colored holes once they have dried. Gently buff the area with the nubuck cloth.
