First go shopping. It's likely you aren't going to have everything you need in you home currently to prepare a survival food pack. So go to the nearest grocery store to these items.

Next, you want to shop for foods that are a meal in one, have an expiration date of more than 2 years, and do not require cooking. Your eating habits will likely change when the world ends. You will eat less and it may be as flavorful. The important thing is that it feeds you and keeps you alive at the end of the world.
Here's an example of long expiration date foods for your survival pack:
Condensed Goat's Milk - 3 year shelf life and in liquid form. Just add water or drink as is.
Tuna and Spam in Foil Pouch - over 2 year shelf life and a good protein and fat source.
Canned foods - These are the most shelf stable and can have a long shelf life. The down side is they are heavier to carry. The up side is that one can will feed two people. -

Prepare for when your food runs out. For this you will likely need a gun, fishing pole, a trap, and seed storage. Growing your own food will be difficult for the first few years due to theft and vandalism. You will need to survive off your food pack, then by hunting, and lastly when the population has decline on farming.
