How to Purge a Whirlpool Tub
Purging your whirlpool tub is an important step in keeping it functioning properly. Each time you use the jets, a small amount of water remains in the whirlpool system when you drain the tub. Purging the tub removes residue that builds up from soaps and bath oils. At the same time, it disinfects your whirlpool system. Whirlpool tubs should be purged a minimum of two times per month to prevent bacteria development. Bacteria in the jet system is released into the bathwater when the jets are run, and can result in folliculitis, an infection of the hair follicles. Does this Spark an idea?
