How to Have Band Stickers Made
Stickers are a great band promotional tool that you can hand out at shows and insert into mailers. As people display the stickers, the information printed on them acts as advertising, driving people to your website for more information. Having stickers made is relatively easy and in many cases, inexpensive.

1
Design your band's stickers and make sure you get everyone's input so the entire band is happy with the stickers. There are a variety of design methods you can use, from drawing or painting the design yourself by hand, to creating a rough sketch and having a professional artist bring that image to life for a fee. If you are skilled in computer graphics, you can also use your personal computer to create a design.

2
Include any imagery, such as band art or CD cover art, as your audience will identify you with these images. Band art may include your band's logo, a backdrop you use onstage and--if your band has professionally recorded a CD--the artwork on the cover (if you have the artist's permission to reproduce it).

Use the same font for your stickers that you and your band use in your logo if your band has a name. Some bands may just use symbols to identify themselves, in which case you would use the symbol. If your band is relatively new and still searching for an identifiable font, hand-sketch one or browse through the thousands of available fonts online for one that your band agrees suits your personal image.

Add a line for your website and contact information at the bottom of the sticker, so people who are interested in booking you for shows know where they can check out your music and how to get in touch with you.

Contact your local print shop and ask about pricing. There are also a number of online sites, such as U Printing, Printing Host and Custom Stickers (see Resources), that allow you to upload your image and order stickers in bulk. Stickers can cost anywhere from $50 to $200 per 100-count order, depending on the material the stickers are made from. Black and white stickers will be cheaper than partial- and full-color stickers but may not fully capture the essence of your artwork. Preview all options before making a choice, as you won't want to spend a lot of money on stickers that aren't going to capture the public's eye.

Choose the best kind of stickers to suit your band's budget and needs. There are numerous sticker varieties to choose from, such as adhesive paper, clear vinyl, static window clings and bumper stickers. Because you are trying to promote the band with your stickers, think carefully about how your fans will display them after you hand them out. Window clings and bumper stickers, for example, could be displayed on cars, spreading the word about your band as your fans travel around.
