How to Clean Your Acer 5050
Acer 5050 laptop computers will collect dust and dirt on all of the surfaces of the computer. The dirt buildup could affect a user's ability to view the LCD screen or use the keyboard, and may lead to the computer overheating. Because the Acer 5050 is a sensitive electrical device, proper care is needed when cleaning the machine. With careful cleaning, the computer will look like new and continue to stay cool during operation.

Shut down the computer, unplug the power cord and remove the battery from the bottom of the laptop.

Dampen a soft cloth with warm water. Ensure you ring out excess water from the cloth.

Wipe down the outside of the computer with the cloth with a light rubbing motion and dry it with a second cloth.

Open the computer and wipe down the LCD screen with the damp cloth. Do not press hard on the screen. Dry the screen with the second cloth when you are finished.

Clear debris from the keyboard by blowing compressed air between the keys. Wipe off the keys with a damp cloth and dry the keyboard when finished.

Turn the computer over and blow compressed air through the air vents to remove any dust or debris blocking air flow.
