How to Boost a C-Band Satellite Signal
When a C-band satellite signal travels through long distances of cable, it can lose some of its quality. Instead of settling for a mediocre satellite signal, give it a boost with an in-line amplifier. For every 100 feet of cabling you use, you should install an in-line amplifier to help ensure your C-band satellite signal retains its quality when it reaches its destination. An in-line amplifier is easy to install because it simply screws into your cabling.

1
Connect an RG6 cable to your C-band satellite, and then connect the other end of the cable to an in-line amplifier. The amplifier has a barrel connector on both ends, so you can simply screw the barrel onto the barrel connector.
-
2
Plug an RG6 cable into the other end of your in-line amplifier and run that cable to your satellite receiver.
-
-
3
Insert the cable into the “Satellite In” input on your satellite receiver.
-
4
Run a cable from the “Satellite Out” output on the back of your satellite receiver to your television. If this cable runs more than 100 feet, install another in-line amplifier using the same steps.
