How to Use the Speaker When Checking Voicemail on an iPhone
Everyone gets voice mail messages, but seldom are they received at a time when we can easily listen to them. Oftentimes we can be out and about, and it might be difficult to hear them. Other times we might be in a private place and don't want to hold the phone to our ear. If you have multiple messages, it can be tiresome to hold the iPhone up for extended periods of time. All this is simplified by the speaker feature for the iPhone.

Go into your voice mail and choose on the message you'd like to listen to. In the bottom right corner of the Phone application, you will see a tab that says "Voicemail." Tap on it, then tap the message you want to listen to. Once you tap on the message, it will begin to play.

Tips & Warnings
If you are in a noisy place and need to listen to a voice mail message, then you might still need to hold the iPhone up to your ear, but the speaker amplification should now make it audible.
Keep in mind that if you can hear your message from two feet away, others can probably hear it too, especially in a quiet place. If a message might be private, or include information you don't want others to know, you may want to wait before using the speaker.
