The Timex 1440 Sports Digital Watch is a weather-resistant watch that comes with an automatic time syncing radio. This radio connects to an atomic clock that keeps precise time. Though the watch is supposed to sync with this clock daily, things like weather, proximity and physical condition can interfere with the process and the watch can fail to sync. In this case, you will need to manually set the time. Fortunately setting the time on the Timex 1440 is a simple and quick process.

Press and hold the "Set" button. You will see a city code flashing. This city code represents the closest city in your time zone. Press the "Start/Stop" button to select the correct city.

Press the "Mode" button to set daylight saving time preferences. To enable DST, press the "Start/Stop" button to select "On." To disable it, press the "Start/Stop" button again to select "Off."

Press the "Mode" button again to set the time. Press the "Start/Stop" button to change the hour, and then press "Mode" again to change the minutes and then the seconds.

Press the "Set" button to finish setting the watch. The watch face will now display the correct time.
