How to Easily & Quickly Make Your Hair Wavy

Wavy hair looks naturally beautiful with short or long styles, and two easy styling methods give you a simple way to make your hair wavy. Some hair types take on waves and curls more easily than others, so if one method doesn't work for you, try the other. Each method also creates a different style of wavy hair, so you can alternate styles to create different looks. As you style, don't use too much hair product, as this can make hair look and feel crunchy. Using hair-care products in moderation will give your hair definition, while keeping a natural look. Instructions

  1. Scrunch and Dry

    • 1

      Wash and condition your hair.

    • 2

Gently comb your hair with a hair pick.

    • 3

Part your hair as desired. Use a side or diagonal part for more volume.

    • 4

Run your fingers through your hair. This helps to separate it into chunkier curls or waves.

    • 5

Scrunch hair gently, cupping the ends in your palms and scrunching upward. For added volume or control, you could work a little mouse into your hair at this step. If you have naturally curly hair, you could let it air-dry at this point, or continue with the next step to build volume.

    • 6

Attach a diffuser to your hair dryer.

    • 7

Spritz a large chunk of hair with scrunching spray, such as Aussie Sprunch Spray, and scrunch upward like you did before. Press the scrunched hair against your head, and begin drying it. You don't have to dry it completely yet, but dry it fairly well. Unscrunch slightly to dry the area near your scalp.

    • 8

Do the same with the next chunk of hair. Work your way around your head until you've scrunched and dried your hair fairly well.

    • 9

Go back to the beginning, and start scrunching again, but not as tightly. Gently grasp random, larger clusters of hair, and scrunch upward, using additional styling spray if needed. For more volume, flip your hair upside down for this step.

    • 10

Gently lift your roots with your fingers or hair pick, drying them more thoroughly.

    • 11

      Spritz lightly with shine enhancer.

    Roller Waves

    • 12

Brush your hair well, parting it as desired, and spritz it with styling spray or brush a little gel through it. Hair must be dry for this method.

    • 13

Put your hair up in big roller curls, which will create a sleeker look.

    • 14

Leave hair in the rollers until they start to cool. While they're still warm, spritz with hair spray.

    • 15

Shake hair out gently to create loose waves instead of tighter curls.

    • 16

Spritz with shine enhancer for a glossier look.
