How to Polish Black Ceramic Exhaust Pipes

To keep your car, truck or motorcycle looking clean, you'll need to scrub those exhaust pipes. Black ceramic exhaust pipes are typically made from a metallic ceramic coating that can withstand high temperatures. Clean the exhaust pipes before you polish or you may scratch the finish.

Things You'll Need

• Soap
• Cotton cloths
• Polishing compound

Instructions

1. Wash your exhaust pipes with soapy water and a clean cotton cloth. Remove all traces of grime, dirt and other debris. Rinse the pipes and run a finger along them. If they still feel dirty, wash them again. Dry with a clean cloth.

2. Apply a dime-sized amount of polishing compound with a fresh cloth. Rub the polish on in small circles until the entire exhaust pipe has been covered. Apply even pressure without pressing down.

3. Wipe the polishing compound off with a fresh rag. As you wipe, your exhaust pipes will grow shiny. The more your continue to wipe, the shinier they will be.
