How to Write ABECEDARIAN Poetry

ABECEDARIAN POETRY

An acrostic whose letters do not spell a word,
But follow the order (more or less) of the alphabet.

Not a figure from classical times.

MY EXAMPLE:

A Bigot,
Buddhist,
Christian,
Devout
Everything,
Faithful
Gnostic,
Hindu,
Islamic,
Jew;
Kinda
Like
Mostly
New-Age
OR
Playing at the
Queen's
Religion,
Sikh,
Taoist,
Ultimately a
Vivacious
Whatever-
Xmas (only)
Yearning
Zealot.

Yes, perhaps my relationship with God
Is determined by a name, for
As humans we seem to have a need
To categorize everything-

If we cannot then we
Call it Spiritual or New-Age,
Although the deep relationship
Cannot be seen
Even by myself:
We are an outward expression
Encapsulating what we are within.

We are all on display
For personal condemnations,
Prejudice, and or exaltations,
Wanted or not.

To avoid this one must become a recluse,
Thus of no use to Society. Declaration or not.

I wish ALL could know from where the source flows.

AND THE POEM GOES ON AND ON.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
