How Do I Change Connection Settings on a Yahoo! Messenger Webcam?

Webcams are popular computer peripherals that are capable of capturing videos in real time. Yahoo! Messenger is a free chat program which allows users to communicate to others all over the world. Combining the webcam and Yahoo! Messenger together enables you to video chat with others without the use of text windows. However, if you just recently installed a new camera, you will have to manually modify the webcam's connection settings through the Yahoo! Messenger interface.

Instructions

1. Click on the "Messenger" at the top menu, then click on "My Webcam." This will bring up the My Webcam window.

2. Select "File" on the My Webcam window. Then click on "Preferences" to bring up the Yahoo! Messenger preferences window.

3. Choose "Webcam" from the "Category" section if you are using Yahoo! Messenger 9 or older. For Yahoo! Messenger 10 and newer, choose "Webcam Broadcast."

4. Click on the "Camera Source" button to bring up the camera source window. On the "Camera Source" drop-down menu, select your available webcams listed. Then click on "OK" to change your webcam connection settings.
