How to Obtain a Music License for Facebook

When you want to incorporate music into Facebook, whether you embed it in your profile, make music a part of an advertisement or a custom Facebook application, you are required to obtain proper music licensing. To secure licensing you can use one, or all, of the three United States performing rights societies; American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) and the Society of European Stage Authors and Composers (SESAC), contact the copyright owner of the music directly or purchase royalty-free music. Obtaining a license from the performing rights societies or purchasing royalty-free music will supply you with access to the broadest selection of music.
