How to Remove Restricted Policies Internet Options
Restricted policies on Internet Explorer’s Internet Options tab show up due to a lack of administrator privileges on the Windows user account. A message will appear saying, "This operation has been canceled due to restrictions on this computer.” The error can sometimes be a mistake, especially when the Windows user is already logged in as the administrator. The computer’s Registry Editor is a useful tool is correcting the policies error. Editing a policies registry key will not affect the rest of Internet Explorer functions.

Click on the "Start" icon.

Type "regedit" in the search bar and hit "Enter." The search result will show a program called Registry Editor.

Double click on the "Registry Editor" icon.

Double-click on the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER" folder, located in the left window.

Double-click on the "Software," "Policies," "Microsoft," "Internet
Explorer" and "Restrictions" folders. -

Right-click on the "NoBrowserOptions" registry key, located in the right window.

Click on the "Modify" menu option.

Type in 0 in the Value Data field.

Click on "OK" to confirm your changes.

Double-click on the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" folder, located on the left side.

Double-click the "Software," "Policies," "Microsoft," "Internet Explorer" and "Restrictions" folders.

Right-click on the "NoBrowserOptions" key.

Select the "Modify" option.

Type in 0 for Value Data.

Click on "OK" to confirm your changes.

Close the Registry Editor by clicking on the "X" icon.

Open a new Internet Explorer web browser window.

Click on "Tools" and select "Internet Options." You will be able to navigate through options and properties without restrictions.
