Restore deleted history on your PC.

Losing or accidentally deleting history on your computer is a major burden. Fortunately, the Windows operating system has an option to restore deleted history. The System Restore option allows you to put the operating system back in time before the deletion of particular items. While System Restore isn't guaranteed to recover the data you want, it will restore deleted history to a certain point in time and recover a majority of lost data and unwanted changes.

Instructions

    • 1

Exit out of all programs and save any open information.

    • 2

Click on the "Start" menu in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Find "All Programs" and click on it.

    • 3

Click on "Accessories" and then click on "System Tools."

    • 4

Click on "System Restore" to restore your computer to an earlier time. Enter your administrator password, if prompted.

    • 5

Select a restore point from the suggested restore point calendar. Choose a date prior to when you deleted the history and data that you want to restore.

    • 6

Follow the System Restore instructions and restart your computer to complete the restore.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can undo the changes System Restore makes by running the program again.
