How to Change the Volume Control on Vista
Windows Vista introduced a new way to control a computer's volume. The sound mixer allows you to customize the volume within each program you are running. You can have your iTunes playing louder something within your web browser, and you don't have to keep changing the master volume of the computer. At first glance, controlling the volume on Vista seems glaringly obvious, but the "Mixer" option is what makes Vista volume control unique to all the Windows versions before it.
