How to Find Out Who the Carrier of a Phone Number Is

A telephone carrier is the land line or wireless service provider that services a specific phone number. As a customer you pay your phone bill to this carrier, and the carrier has responsibility for servicing the phone number. Several online search tools are available that will display the carrier associated with a specific phone number.
Go to a phone number search tool that gives you the telephone carrier associated with the phone number (see Resources). Examples include Fonefinder.net, Number-Finder.info and Telcodata.us.
Enter the complete phone number including the area code in the text box. Some search services require you to enter only the area code and first three digits of the phone number.
Click the "Search" or the "Search by Number" button to display the carrier information for that phone number.
