How Do I Turn on the Radio on My BlackBerry Pearl?

The Blackberry Pearl, like other BlackBerry devices, alerts the user constantly when the device is about to power down and shut off. A feature of the BlackBerry automatically turns off the device's cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios to conserve power so that the user may access important information on the phone while the battery is dying. However, after the phone is charged or has received enough power to continue normal operations, the cellular radio will not automatically turn itself back on. Users can easily access a menu to turn their cellular radios on after charging the batteries.

Instructions

1. Press the BlackBerry's "Menu" button, or scroll to the BlackBerry logo on your device's home screen, and use the scroll wheel to access the Applications.

2. Scroll to the "Manage Connections" application represented by an icon with an antenna. It is usually located toward the end of the Application list if you have not rearranged it from the original layout.

3. Select the box titled "Mobile Network," and press the scroll wheel to select the option. After a few moments, the cellular network icon will switch from "OFF" to its normal state, and you will soon have cellular service.
