How Do I Rename My Macbook?
If you want to rename your Macbook, you'll have to enter the device's operating system and assign a new name to your administrator user account. This will change the overall user name of the computer, and will be incorporated into certain programs, including the Mac version of Microsoft Word. Changing your Macbook's name can be done in just a few seconds by logging on and opening the "System Preferences" utility.

Log in as the administrator account on your Macbook.

Click the "Apple" logo.

Click "System Preferences..."

Click "Accounts."

Change the name listed in the "User Name" category to whatever new name you want to assign to your machine. You will have successfully changed the name on your Macbook.
