How Do You Locate the Task Manager in VMware Fusion?

Save

In Windows, the standard keyboard shortcut to open the Task Manager is to press the "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete" keys simultaneously. However, this is not the case if you are running a Windows virtual machine in VMware Fusion on your Mac (unless you are using a PC keyboard). But there is a shortcut to send the "Ctrl-Alt-Delete" key combination to the virtual machine in VMware Fusion in order to open the Task Manager.

  • Click the "Virtual Machine" menu at the top of the screen, then click "Send Ctrl-Alt-Delete" on any Mac model, regardless of keyboard type.

  • Press the "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Forward Delete" keys simultaneously if you are using a desktop Mac. The "Forward Delete" key has a right-facing arrow and is below the "Help" or "Fn" key, depending on the keyboard model.

  • Press the "Fn," "Ctrl," "Option" and "Delete" keys simultaneously if you are using a late-model Mac laptop such as a MacBook or MacBook Pro.

  • Click the "Task Manager" button or the "Start Task Manager" link to open the Task Manager on your virtual machine.
