Prepare hot, fluffy rice in minutes using your microwave and Minute Rice. A brand name of instant rice, Minute Rice, lets you prepare rice in just five to 10 minutes rather than the 30 to 40 minutes required for regular varieties of rice. You must make a minimum of two, one cup servings of rice when you use the microwave. The leftover rice stores well in the refrigerator, covered for up to two days.
Things You'll Need
- 1 cup Minute Rice
- 1 cup water
- 1 quart microwaveable container with lid
Pour in one cup of rice and one cup of water per every two servings into a microwaveable bowl.
Cover the bowl and heat on high power for six minutes for two servings.
Leave the covered bowl in the microwave for five minutes.
Remove lid from the container and use a fork to fluff the rice.
Tips & Warnings
- Use one cup of rice and one cup of water for each additional two servings. Cook for eight minutes for four servings and 10 minutes for six servings.
- Use prepared Minute Rice as a substitute for cooked medium grain rice in any recipe.
