How to Switch Frigidare Refrigerator Freezer Doors

Frigidaire refrigerator-freezer doors are easy to switch out if they become dented or rusty. The doors are designed to be removed for safety reasons (always remove the doors when storing a refrigerator to prevent children from getting trapped inside). Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

      Unplug the electrical power at the wall outlet and switch off the water supply.

      Remove the toe grille. With the doors closed, unfasten the right and left clips from the bottom hinge groove. Open both doors and press on the top of the toe grille until it pops off.

      Remove any food from the door shelves and close the doors.

      Remove the refrigerator top hinge cover. Remove the three screws from the cover over the top door hinges and lift the hinge cover off. Remove the two screws from the top hinge. Lift the door off the bottom hinge and discard.

      Reverse Step 4 to install the new door.

      Remove the freezer top hinge cover. Remove the two screws and lift the cover off. Detach the multi-wire connector located near the top hinge. Grasp it and pull it apart. Detach the water tube from the connector at the bottom of the freezer door by pressing the outer sleeve inwards. Remove the screws from the top hinge and pull the cable through it. Lift the door off the bottom hinge.

      Reverse Step 6 to install the new door.
