How To Know If an iPod Has a Mic

Some of the newer models of iPods come with a built-in microphone. The iPod Nano, capable of shooting video, has a built in microphone. iPod Touches and iPhones also have built-in microphones. The built-in microphones make it possible to shoot video with sound. The iPod Touch can't shoot video, but you can record sounds bites, messages or memos. The amount of sound it can hold depends on the amount on space on the iPod.

Instructions

1. Read the iPod container to see if it mentions a microphone.

2. Read the instruction booklet that comes with all iPod models. You will have to have bought the iPod in order to read the manual.

3. Go to http://www.apple.com/ipod/compare-ipod-models/ to compare all the current models of iPods. The chart lists if the iPod has a microphone.
