How Do I Disable My Wireless Internet?
Wireless networking is a feature that enables you to connect to a network and browse the Internet without complicated cable setups. If you are having problems with a certain wireless network connection, you can disable it without interfering with other network components. Windows XP

Click the Windows "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel."

Double-click "Network Connections." You should see a list of the network connections that you are running on your computer.

Right-click the wireless network connection that you are using and click "Disable." A currently enabled wireless connection displays a green connection status. Once you disable the network, you should see a red "X" marked over it.
Windows Vista and 7

Click the Windows "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel."

Click "Network and Sharing Center" and click "Manage Wireless Connections." You should see a list of the wireless connections on your computer.

Right-click the wireless network connection that you are using and click "Disable." A currently enabled wireless connection displays a green connection status. Once you disable the network, you should see a red "X" marked over it.
Mac OS X Users

Click the "Airport" icon on the top right corner. You should see the wireless network to which you are connected.

Scroll down and click the "Turn AirPort Off" link. This automatically disables the wireless network connection on your computer.
