How to Tell If Your Adobe Dreamweaver Is a Trial Copy

Adobe makes the Dreamweaver application, along with other Adobe products, available as a "trial" version so that you can try out the functionality of the software and see whether it meets your needs for free. If you do not know whether you have a trial version because you have not used this program in a while or possibly did not install this software, you can check for some key items that tell you whether your Dreamweaver is a trial copy.

Instructions

    • 1

      Launch your Adobe Dreamweaver application.

    • 2

Look at the dialogue window that automatically opens to see whether it displays a timer that is counting down a number of days. You can use trial software for 30 days so the number displayed on the timer represents the days that you can continue using Dreamweaver--if you are indeed using a trial copy.

    • 3

Watch for an expiration notice in your Dreamweaver application that is requesting a serial number. You can use the "Buy" link on the notice to purchase a full version of Dreamweaver, go to the Adobe.com website or purchase a disk from a retailer and then get the serial number needed to continue using this product.

Tips & Warnings

  • Look for a serial number on the back of your Dreamweaver CD/DVD sleeve and/or box, or check your email for a confirmation message from Adobe.com. If you find this number, this means that you have a paid version of Dreamweaver and not a trial.
