How to Recover Files After XP Recovery

The Windows XP recovery procedure is intended to replace all of the operating system files on your hard drive, correcting errors and fixing your computer. Occasionally, files can become corrupted during the XP recovery process. If you find that one or more of your files has become error-prone following the recovery, you will need to engineer a recovery from your recovery to get things back to full working order.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the "Start" menu and click on the "All Programs" list.

    • 2

Navigate to the "Accessories" folder and open the "System Tools" directory.

    • 3

Select the "System Restore" program and choose the option to "Restore My Computer."

    • 4

Choose a restore date from the menu that is before you want to begin the XP recovery process.

    • 5

Press "Next" to begin the recovery of your corrupted files. After the process completes, your formerly corrupted files will be restored.
