1
Create a document in your favorite graphics software that is the size of your plastic checkbook cover (5-15/16 by 6-7/16 inches). As you are creating the photo that will become the insert for your checkbook cover, consider how the finished checkbook cover will appear so you can size all fonts and photos properly. Keep in mind that the top half of your design will appear on the back of the checkbook cover, while the bottom half will become the front.

2
Print the checkbook cover using your desktop printer. Use your best photo setting if using photos with a lot of detail.

3
Spray the photo with clear acrylic sealer. Spraying the photo with acrylic sealant will help preserve the image, preventing fading and wear on the photo over time.
-
4
Cut the checkbook cover from the paper. If your checkbook cover has rounded corners, round the corners with your scissors so the insert will fit comfortably within your checkbook cover.
-
5
Insert the cover into your clear checkbook cover. If the insert is too snug or has trouble slipping into the cover, remove the cover and trim the insert around its edges until the insert fits comfortably into the checkbook cover.
