How to Log on to the Windows 2000 Server
Setting up a server computer for the first time is an exciting experience for the budding network professional. When confronted with the initial login screen for Windows 2000 Server, however, you may be unsure of how to proceed because the login screen does not include the friendly icon-based interface of consumer operating systems such as Windows Vista or 7. Log in to a Windows 2000 Server to begin making changes and setting the system up for your users.

Press the "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete" keys simultaneously. On some computers, the "Delete" key may be abbreviated as "Del."

Enter your user name and password. You may log in to Windows 2000 Server for the first time using the account named "Administrator" or your own personal account. Both the personal account and the Administrator password are selected by you when installing the operating system. Note that Windows 2000 Server passwords are case-sensitive and can be a maximum of 14 characters long.

Press "Enter" or click "OK." If the user name and password were entered correctly, you will be logged into Windows 2000 Server immediately.
