How Do I Turn Off Save When Exiting in Mozilla Firefox?

One of the key features of Firefox, an open-source browser developed by Mozilla, is the ability to save the multiple websites in Firefox browser windows and tabs. This option allows you to relaunch Firefox at a later time just as it was when you last exited the browser. You may want to disable this save feature for security or privacy reasons, and Firefox allows this option to be turned off.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on "Firefox" or "File" from Firefox's main menu bar at the top of the screen.

    • 2

Select "Exit" or "Quit Firefox" from the list of options. A pop up will appear giving you three options: "Quit," "Cancel," and "Save and Quit."

    • 3

Click "Quit" to exit Firefox without saving the currently opened browser windows and browser window tabs.

    • 4

Check off the check box next to "Do not ask me again" and select "Quit" to turn off the "save" feature in Firefox. After doing this, whenever you exit Firefox the browser will automatically quit without a prompt and will not save the browsing windows or browser tabs.

Tips & Warnings

  • Click on "Tools" under the top menu bar, followed by "Clear Recent History," to clear browsing history to erase previously viewed websites in the address bar.
