How to Make Nylon Scrubbers
With the advent of non-stick pans, nylon scrubbers have become popular and necessary. Rather than buying ready-made nylon scrubbers, you can make your own scrubbers from nylon netting and just a few other supplies. These are great for scrubbing various surfaces throughout your home and are so simple to make. Look for most supplies for this project at your local craft or fabric store. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1/2 yard of 72-inch-wide nylon netting
- Scissors
- Strong nylon thread or dental floss
- Large needle
Instructions

1
Cut the nylon netting into three 6 inch by 72 inch sections. Lay the three strips, one on top of the other. Make sure the edges are even.
-
2
Thread the needle with nylon thread or dental floss. Sew down the middle of the nylon netting sections. Use long basting-type stitches about one inch in length. Leave some thread on both ends of the netting.

-
3
Hold the thread on one end in your hand, then pull the netting back toward you with your other hand to form a ball. This will scrunch together the netting into a round shape.
-
4
Secure the scrubber by wrapping the thread around the middle of the ball several times and securing the ends tightly with a knot. Trim off the ends of the thread with scissors.
-
5
Pull apart some of the nylon layers to make the ball a typical fluffy nylon scrubber.
