How to Make an Earthquake in Premiere Pro Cs3
So you want to produce a ground breaking video. With Adobe Premiere CS3 it's easy. Premiere CS3 can literally make the earth shake using the robust effects tools included with the program. Premiere CS3 is fast becoming a popular alternative to Mac based video editing programs. Premiere CS3 features tight integration with the entire suite of digital media production titles produced by Adobe. Adobe Premiere CS3 may not be the most popular title among video professionals, but you will find it has a growing fan base among PC users.

Import the video clip you want to add the earthquake effect to by double-clicking in the project window and selecting the video clip.

Drag the video clip onto the sequence timeline using your mouse. Make sure the clip remains selected on the timeline.

Select the “Effect Controls” window and expand the “Motion” controls by clicking the small triangle to the left of the Motion section.

Place the timeline cursor at the point in the video clip where you want the earthquake effect to begin.

Click the key frame icon to the left of the “Position” settings. The key frame icon looks like a small stop watch.

Position the timeline cursor in the Sequence window two frames to the right by pressing the right arrow key on the keyboard.

Add 10 frames to the vertical position value. From the two values shown next to the Position settings, click the one on the right and enter an amount using your keyboard.

Move the timeline cursor in the Sequence window two frames to the right by pressing the right arrow key on the keyboard.

Subtract 20 frames from the vertical position value.

Move the timeline cursor in the Sequence window by two frames.

Add 20 frames from the vertical position value.

Repeat steps 8 through 11 for as long as you want the earthquake to last on the timeline.

Tips & Warnings
Customize the earthquake effect by adding more or less to the vertical position values and adjusting the frame interval from 2 frames to 3 frames or more.
