How to Reset a Motorola Droid

Reset your Motorola Droid to restore its operating function.

Your Motorola Droid is a mini-computer and can crash just like your computer. There are two ways to reset your Motorola Droid: 1) Crash Recovery Reset, 2) Factory Reset. The first option resets your Droid if it freezes up and becomes inoperable; the second erases all of your data and restores your Droid to its factory settings -- a good option if you feel an app you downloaded is causing the freezing problem.

Instructions

Crash Recovery Reset

1. Remove your Motorola Droid's back cover.

2. Remove the Droid's battery and wait for a moment or two.

3. Replace the battery, ensuring it is seated into the phone properly.

4. Replace the back cover and turn on the Droid to see if it is operational again.

Factory Reset

1. Tap "Menu."

2. Tap "Settings."

3. Tap "Privacy."

4. Tap "Factory Data Reset."

5. Select "Reset phone."
