How to Reset a Motorola Droid

Reset your Motorola Droid to restore its operating function.

Your Motorola Droid is a mini-computer and can crash just like your computer. There are two ways to reset your Motorola Droid: 1) Crash Recovery Reset, 2) Factory Reset. The first option resets your Droid if it freezes up and becomes inoperable; the second erases all of your data and restores your Droid to its factory settings -- a good option if you feel an app you downloaded is causing the freezing problem.

Instructions

  1. Crash Recovery Reset

    • 1

Remove your Motorola Droid's back cover.

    • 2

Remove the Droid's battery and wait for a moment or two.

    • 3

Replace the battery, ensuring it is seated into the phone properly.

    • 4

Replace the back cover and turn on the Droid to see if it is operational again.

    Factory Reset

    • 5

      Tap "Menu."

    • 6

      Tap "Settings."

    • 7

      Tap "Privacy."

    • 8

      Tap "Factory Data Reset."

    • 9

      Select "Reset phone."

Tips & Warnings
