How to Enable JavaScript in the Avant Browser

Avant Browser is a free shell for Internet Explorer, created with the aim of giving Internet Explorer an improved user interface, and providing easier access to features of Internet Explorer that would normally be several menus deep, such as enabling or disabling JavaScript, a programming language that allows web-based applications to run. Enable JavaScript in Avant Browser if you are having trouble displaying a website that includes interactive content.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Tools" menu at the top of the screen, then click "Internet Options."

    • 2

Click the "Security" tab, then click the "Internet" icon directly under it. Click the "Custom Level" button.

    • 3

Locate the "Scripting" category near the bottom of the window, then set the options for "Active Scripting" and "Scripting of Java Applets" to "Enable" or "Prompt." Note that while "Prompt" is the more secure option, selecting this will require you to click a confirmation to run JavaScript scripts.

    • 4

Click "OK" in both open windows to save your settings.

Tips & Warnings

  • Because Avant Browser is a shell for Internet Explorer, the two browsers share their Internet settings. Making this change in Avant Browser will also affect the settings for Internet Explorer.
