Instructions

    • 1

Clean the crack out as much as you possibly can. In order for the epoxy to adhere properly, it is vital that all dirt and debris be removed from the crack. You may use a power washer or shop vacuum to clean out the debris.

    • 2

Purchase an epoxy filler in a tube. Epoxy must be properly mixed with a hardener before it is applied to surfaces. Tube dispensers mix the epoxy as it is applied, saving you from the mess of mixing the epoxy and the hardener.

    • 3

Squirt the epoxy mixture directly into the crack. Start at one end of the crack and move toward the other end, dispensing the epoxy from the tube as you go.

    • 4

Wipe away excess epoxy sealant that bubbles up out of the crack, using a damp washcloth. If the sealed crack is not smooth, you may smooth out the epoxy sealant with a trowel.

    • 5

Avoid walking on the area for at least 24 hours. This gives the epoxy time to dry and harden.

    • 6

Check to ensure that the epoxy dried smoothly. If it did not, you may wish to sand the area until it is perfectly smooth.

Tips & Warnings

  • Although many types of concrete sealant require that you even up the edges of the crack before use, this is not necessary when sealing a crack with epoxy.

  • Cracks in your garage floor could be the result of foundation damage.
