Banana bread tastes delicious and is one of the easier breads to make. Fresh baked banana bread has a mouth watering aroma and is commonly used to complement Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. However, getting the bread out of the pan in one appetizing loaf can be a challenge when the banana bread is stuck inside the pan. Baking dilemmas such as this can happened to any cook. Cakes and breads may not always cooperate the way we would like them to, but this method of removing stuck bread will also work for cakes. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Steaming water
  • Towels
  • Foil
  • Rubber gloves
  • Potholder
  • Table knife

Instructions

    • 1

      Seal the kitchen sink with the drain stopper. Place a bath towel in the kitchen sink and soak with hot steaming water.

      Seal the top of the bread pan with foil or plastic wrap to prevent water from getting inside the pan.

      Place the banana bread pan on top of the soaked towel, and push the towel snugly around the four sides of the bread pan. Use household rubber gloves to protect your hands from the hot water.

      Cover the sink and pan with a large, dry towel to prevent the steam from the water from escaping.

      Allow the pan to sit in the sink for 10 minutes. The steaming water will loosen the bread from the pan.

      Remove the top towel and lift the pan from the sink. Use a potholder if the pan is too hot to touch. Place the pan on a dry towel.

      Dry the outside of the bread pan. Hit the bottom of the pan with your hand or use the countertop to bump the bottom. Run a kitchen table knife along the inside of the pan to separate the pan from the bread.

      Place your hand, or clean kitchen towel over the top of the bread, and flip the pan so the bottom is facing up. The bread will fall out of the pan into your hand or towel.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remove the bread from the pan before it has completely cooled.

  • Grease the inside of the pan and sprinkle the sides and bottom with flour to prevent sticking.
