Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Put 6 cups of water in a pot on the stove and heat to boiling.

  2. Step 2

    Add 1/2 cup of dry potpourri - be sure to include a little bit of everything for the full effect.

  3. Step 3

    Turn the heat down until the mixture is simmering.

  4. Step 4

    Be sure to check the water level regularly and add more as necessary.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never leave simmering potpourri unattended.

on 11/22/2005 When simmering potpourri begins to lose its potency, simply add a few drops of a fragrant oil similar to the one used originally in the potpourri. Also, since loose potpourri gets a little messy, you can put some potpourri in cheesecloth, tulle, netting, etc. and tie with string, ribbon or jute.
