If you have a song on your MP3 player and want to add it to a different MP3 player, you don't have to purchase any additional programs, as long as you have a computer present. You can't connect the two devices together, but through the aid of a computer you can copy any, or all of the songs to and from the MP3 players. This allows you to easily transfer songs to a new MP3 player if you just purchased an upgraded player.

Step 1

Connect the USB cable to the MP3 player you want to take the music tracks from and plug the other end of the USB cable into one of the USB ports on the computer.

Step 2

Click "Start," followed by either "Computer" or "My Computer" (depending on what operating system you are using).

Step 3

Double-click the MP3 player icon and a window appears, displaying all of the music tracks currently stored on the device.

Step 4

Click-and-drag the audio tracks onto the computer. You can place them on the desktop or any other location on the computer.

Step 5

Close the MP3 player's window, right-click its icon and select "Eject." You can now remove the first MP3 player from the computer.

Step 6

Connect the second MP3 player to the computer in the same manner as the first, then open the MP3 player window (through "Computer" or "My Computer"). Click-and-drag the audio tracks into the MP3 player's window. Once the copy finishes, close the device window and eject it.
