How to Fit & Wear a Bra
A well-fitting bra should be comfortable and supportive. A bra that fits well will not bunch or wrinkle in the cup. A bra that fits properly will lay smoothly under clothing. Bra size may be measured at home using a measuring tape. Many lingerie stores offer free bra sizing from their sales consultants. A properly fitting bra in the correct size supports breast tissue and prevents sagging and stretch marks.

How to Fit and Wear a Bra
-
1
Measure around your body below the bust, after breathing out. Note this measurement and add 4 inches for an even measurement and 5 inches for an odd measurement. The resulting number is your band measurement.
-
2
Measure around your breasts at the fullest point. Make sure that the tape measure is laying flat against your skin and do not pull the tape too tightly. This measurement is your cup measurement.
-
-
3
Subtract the band measurement from the cup measurement. For example, a band measurement may be 36 (a measurement of 32 inches around the body plus 4 added as the measurement was an even number) and a cup measurement may be 38. Subtracting 36 from 38 results in 2.
-
4
Determine the cup size based on the difference between the cup measurement and band measurement. A difference of 1 inch is an A cup, 2 inches is a B cup, 3 inches a C cup, and so on.
-
5
Purchase a bra in the correct size. Use your band measurement and the calculated cup size to select a bra that fits your body.
-
6
Place the straps of the bra over your shoulders and bend at the waist. Adjust your breasts in the cups so that they are covered by the cups. Hook the bra while bent over, then stand straight to adjust the straps to a comfortable level.

Tips & Warnings
A well-fitting bra should be snug against the skin but not binding. If the bra is binding, select a bra with a larger band size.
The cups of a bra should fit the breasts smoothly without wrinkles and without flesh overflowing from the cup. If cups are wrinkled, select a bra with a smaller cup size. Flesh coming out of the cups indicates a need for a larger cup size.
