How to Stop Blinking Red Lights on Your XBox 360
The Microsoft Xbox 360 has a ring of light around the power button on the front of the console. Normally, this ring will blink green when the system is operating properly. But if there are issues with the system, certain quadrants will blink red to signify that your attention is required. Depending on which lights are blinking, you will need to take different troubleshooting steps.

1
Try to cool down the console if the two left lights flash red. Unhook the console and put the Xbox 360 in a well-ventilated area away from heat sources for half an hour. Hook the console back up and see if the lights stop flashing. The console will not play discs until it has properly cooled.

2
Check your audio-visual cable and other hookups if all four lights on the console are blinking red. This usually signifies that a cord is disconnected.

Tips & Warnings
If all four lights on the ring blink green, it means that a controller is not connected or that you are trying to add another controller when four controllers are already connected.
Do not try to repair an Xbox 360 console with three blinking red lights yourself as this can void the warranty on the system.
