How to Block Email Addresses on Gmail

Gmail is a free, user-friendly web-mail service run by Google. One of its best features is its search technology that makes locating messages easy. Gmail also has a great tool to help you avoid getting emails from spammers and unwanted senders.

Gmail does not allow you to block messages from a specific address, but it does allow you to set up a filter. The filter will send the unwanted messages directly into your Trash file.

Instructions

1. Sign in to your Gmail account.

2. Click the “Create a Filter” tab. It is located on the right of your search box.

3. In the “From” box, fill in the unwanted sender’s email address, and then click “Next Step.”

4. Now choose the action you’d like to take on the unwanted message. If you choose “Delete It,” the unwanted email will be sent directly to Trash.

5. To complete the task, click “Create Filter.”
