Instructions

    • 1

Make sure Airplane Mode is turned off by tapping the "Settings" button on the iPhone home screen and confirming that the "On/Off" button next to Airplane Mode is set to off.

    • 2

Check the signal status indicator in the top left corner of the iPhone screen. If the signal indicator has one bar or less, try moving to another location to get a stronger signal.

    • 3

Tap the "Settings" button and select "General" from the list shown. Tap "Reset" at the bottom of the General page and select "Reset Network Settings." Enter your phone's lock code if prompted to reset the network settings.

    • 4

Insert the end of a small paperclip into the hole of the SIM card tray at the top of the iPhone. Remove the SIM card tray and reposition the SIM card. Reinsert the SIM card tray into the iPhone.

    • 5

Contact your cellular service provider to see if there is a network outage or other problem causing the call problems. In the United States, the cellular provider for the iPhone is AT&T Wireless.

    • 6

Restore the iPhone by connecting it to your computer and clicking "Restore" in iTunes. Be sure to allow the iPhone to sync and back up your data before restoring as the process will erase all data and settings on the iPhone.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you believe the call problems are hardware related, make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store for further assistance.
