How to Remove Visual Basic

Microsoft Visual Basic is a programming tool included in the Microsoft Studio suite of development tools. Visual Basic provides a graphical programming environment for users who wish to write computer programs using the BASIC programming language; it is used primarily for the creation of Windows programs. It can be somewhat difficult to uninstall Visual Basic, because the program itself does not include an uninstall function. Fortunately, there is a simple method for removing the program from your computer despite that lack.

• Computer with any version of Windows installed

Instructions

1. Click your "Start" menu and choose the "Control Panel."

2. Double-click the "Add or Remove Programs" icon. This will open a list of all the programs on your computer.

3. Scroll down until you find the "Microsoft Visual Basic" entry.

4. Select the "Microsoft Visual Basic" entry and click the "Uninstall" button. Windows will now remove Microsoft Visual Basic from your system.

Tips & Warnings

• Depending on your computer's speed, the uninstall process may take several minutes to complete. During this time, the uninstaller may appear to freeze up. Allow upwards of 10 minutes for the uninstall process to complete before you attempt to manually quit the program or restart your computer.
