How to Add a Background to an iPhone Homescreen
The Apple iPhone can be customized in a number of ways. One way to give your iPhone a more personal touch is to add an image to its home screen. The image will appear when the phone is locked and when a call is received from someone for whom you haven't set an image. The process of setting an iPhone wallpaper, or background, is fast and simple.

From the home screen, select the "Settings" icon.

In the "Settings" menu, select "Wallpaper."

Two photo galleries will appear: a set of default wallpapers and your personal camera roll. Open either and select an image.

Select "Set" to save the image as your home screen background.

Tips & Warnings
Camera roll photos can also be set as wallpaper directly through the camera roll menu.
If there is an image not on your phone that you want to use as wallpaper, you can email yourself the image and save it to your camera roll.
