How to Eliminate Multiple Copies of Internet Explorer
If you have Internet Explorer on your computer, you might have more than one version of it. This could cause confusion and frustration when trying to run the Internet. The best way to get rid of multiple versions is to remove all of them. Then you can download the newest version of Internet Explorer and know that you only have one version on your computer.

1
Click on the "Start" menu.
-
2
Click on "My Computer" and open up the "My Computer" file.
-
-
3
Find "add/remove" programs. It should be located in a list on the left-hand side of the "My Computer" file. Click on it. You will see a large list of the programs that are installed on your computer.
-
4
Scroll through the long list. Each time you find a program called "internet explorer," no matter what the number behind it might be, click on it and select "remove."
-
5
Follow the removal instructions each time you do this. Continue to follow the instructions until it tells you that the program has been completely uninstalled.
-
6
Go back to the add/remove programs list each time you finish uninstalling Internet Explorer. This is because sometimes when you uninstall a particular version of Internet Explorer, the previous version of it will automatically install itself on your computer.
-
7
Remove each indication of Internet Explorer that you find in your list and keep going through the list until you do not find any other versions.
-
8
Double-check your desktop to make sure that all of your Internet Explorer icons are gone.
-
9
Go to Microsoft.com and download the newest version of Internet Explorer.
